Brief Job Description:
As Software Designer with Whirlpool you will develop, implement and manage projects aimed at enhancing the total consumer experience with Whirlpool products, and to represent the state of art in household appliances control.
IN THIS POSITION YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Work within a global teams with the accountability of design firmware for the embedded electronic controls that drives Whirlpool appliances
Design software architectures that meet the requirements of modularity, testability and global standardisation within our company.
Be accountable for the detailed software design documentation, software integration test list definition and hardware software integration test definition
Co-operate with the Hardware Designer and the Electronic Control Manufacturer for the definition of the functional verification of the Electronic Control on the assembly line testing
Execute functional pre-validation tests and carry out the debugging phases
Support the analysis of the electronic control issues (quality, performances) and the troubleshooting
Support the Product Engineering for the specifications tuning and for the feasibility study of the control in terms of architecture, quality, cost, serviceability and development time estimation
Leverage experience and practics with other teams worldwide, attending to workshop and conference for knowledge sharing.
Work actively on software modules reusable globally in Whirlpool organization
Master or Bachelor degree in Electronic or Telecommunication or Computer Science or Physics
5 years (senior) or 2 years (junior) experience in software design for embedded system
Excellent knowledge of software design methodologies, C Language, UML, microprocessor architectures and tools for embedded software design
Good knowledge of SW configuration management systems
Good knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques
Strong work skills, communication, cooperation, self motivated and resourceful
Ability to plan his/her own work to deliver on time
Quality and problem solving mindset
Capability to negotiate specifications vs. implementation
Ability to withstand high pressure situations and high workload peaks
Ability to work in a multi-cultures team and to mentor junior engineers from technical point of view
Very good English language
