Its a huge brand and a very fair company when it comes to the employees rights , the work environment is perfect includes fun and a great competition between all service advisor to make this place better and to reach another level with the customers
When going to management with an issue. It gets dismissed Wanted to progress my knowledge and widen my achievements and learn new things.. it gets dismissed. Yet new staff seem to get everything that they ask for . The workshop lads are great to work with. Unfortunately the after sales team and the sales team not so great
I’ve been an advisor at many places BMW has technology that definitely makes it easier to do your job. As long as there are customers coming in, there’s the opportunity to make money the smarter you work the more money you make. You have to be organized otherwise you’ll be buried and stressed. The pay plan changed a few times while I was there but it wasn’t horrible. Business started to die and so did my pay check. Besides that, it was a great place to work
Technology and supportive management
Commission based means uncertainty
Job was actually quite good for a couple months as management tries to make you stay. Getting BMW’s home almost every weekend etc. This changes quite dramtically after a few months and you become branded a non team player and the back stabbing crom the ancient staff beguns. Use it as a stop gap to do something else after 3 months but never let on to that.
Guaranteed bonus of £250 for 3 months plus any commission or bonus you make on top.
No work/life balance, nothing will ever improve
If you are looking to be driven into the ground and all your efforts never rewarded no matter how many of the ‘METRIC’ boxes you check off their list go to work for SONIC AUTOMOTIVE! They only ask for 12 hours a day, no breaks because the customer always comes first. You can’t be like the DMV and clock out at your scheduled break or shift end if your scheduled appointment is an hour behind. Or if an unexpected client has showed up and you are the next in rotation for a walk in Nothing is ever done by management to help with this although they know and tell you they will do something about it. They just keep doing NITHING!!!
There was a great potential for compensation. Management always got in their own way. Developed a culture where when you made management you sat back and collected a check. The staff I worked with was incredible, truly one of a kind.
Great compensation, little to no oversight/micromanaging
Long hours, you’re a number not a person
always saying trust process , but process is designed to help friends of management. they take care of the people that came with Director, and constantly try to take your money from you. Sell 1.4 million in sales just to make 57k per year...use this to find another advisor position that compensates there work.
Watch out for favoritism. Focus was on selling items that had nothing to do with servicing the vehicle. Management had their favorites that they protected.
Massive company that only focuses on gross profit.
Cons pay plan kept changing, commission checks were getting smaller and smaller, went from a 5 day work week with 1 Saturday a month to 6 day work weeks with one weekend off a month. Great team environment, Managers were awesome, benefits are average, but no time for your family here.
• Managed service advisors to improve customer satisfaction and productivity • Assisted managers with customer problem solving and meeting customers’ expectations • Scheduled customer appointments for service • Assisted finance department in helping customers renew warranties on vehicles -Charge customer for service at cashier or checkout - Assist customers with car service
Treats women badly. Does not value employees as though they are an asset. Believes and treats everyone as though they are replaceable. Talks down to everyone including customers. Believes being a “Center of Excellence” allows them the ability to overcharge and under deliver. Very sad.
