high turnover due to management and team leader terrible work environment, no team atmosphere management and supervisors are out to get you, customers dont even like these guys, dont waste your time they have high turn over of hvac mechanics and apprentices due to really bad team leaders and managers, you are not a hvac mechanic here, you are more of a sales man with a quota, they pound sales here, the actual salesman are terrible no clue what they are doing, office staff are clueless and useless and miserable terrible terrible terrible
team leaders management supervisors office staff
Partial and carrot and stick based management strategy. You need to always say yes to everything since there mantra to get work done is - 'Ho jayga' to appease the Caucasians where they get their business from.
get to work with lot of different global cultures
Right win mentality, partiality, favoritism, non-inclusive
I worked in the security sales department, company has a very antiquated systems to work with that requires a longer than normal learning curve. you ware many hats in this position and less time to get your main sales work completed. Need to integrate their monitoring & estimating systems into one or two CRM and provide an admin processor for the team
Great place to work
Too many software, No admin
As above and would have stayed for a long time but the night shift got to me.Fantastic company and cared about their employees and expected you to earn your pay.Would work for them again no probs if the right opportunity presented itself
They pay well
Yes ling hiurs
Reward for effort? Not at JCA. Reward for 'creeping' to the Managers and Team Leaders. Those who were capable and competent at Team member level were overlooked for advancement.
Week nights/ week days
I was there almost 2 years with no raise. At the end of the month you are worked like a dog cleaning up all WO so you can scrape every penny. Your job is totally disposable. This company is famous for “eliminating positions” and then 3-6 months later they bring the same position back. That’s just there way to get rid of you. They do massive world wide lay offs The only thing that kept me going was the people I worked with whom were absolutely delightful.
Management cares more about the bottom line than about then about team members. If you are not part of the "club" then they could care less about you and you will be treated as an outsider. There is a definite bias in the way individuals are treated even though upper management turns a blind eye to the situation.
Pay & benefitsGood benefits , low initial pay , thanks to the Union and longevity , ending pay was respectableOverallMy experience working at Johnson Controls was ok or wouldn't have stayed for 29 years , p er personally, not a fan of fast paced environment
The term sinking ship strongly applies to jci now.Layoffs are constant, and it started downsizing after the simplex buyout. It's sales driven only, and they will spend 5 million to get a 4 million dollar project. The market is uncertain with the covid, this goes beyond that. They don't match 401k for 2020!
Great co workers
Stripped clean to the bone
Similar to other large scale firms, it is tough to move up the ladder and also learn at an accelerated pace. Sometimes, the senior management will not let you move into a different role because they would not want to lose a valuable team member. The pay is biased, it really depends on what the circumstances are but could very well be paid way less than your team member with less experience.
Good place to work, skills matched SOW. Remote work was allowed with great results. Job ended with less skilled workers whose job skills were not up to par with their given titles. I wanted to continue working there and would return given the opportunity.
A group that offers many opportunities however has a lot of dark sides and not an eye for global results or the best performace in the last 3 years.
Challenging Environment, Management Vision
High turnover, fragmented labour division, Short memory & scapegoat logic, general unfairness
Everyone was great. From the team back at the warehouse to the regional manager. Honestly I have no complaints about this company. Every person in a leadership position cares about the people!
Great pay, work/life balance was great.
With every company there could be something but honestly I can’t think of one.
