Ho lavorato nell'azienda prima come stagista poi nel periodo natalizio. La mia esperienza è stata molto positiva, al termine mi sembrava di dover lasciare una famiglia. L'ambiente è stimolante e talvolta competitivo, dipende anche dai punti vendita, ma c'è sempre l'appagamento per la propria fatica, e per certe persone anche possibilità di crescita. Lavorare qui sicuramente insegna a farsi le ossa nel settore e da una formazione completa e insegna anche una buona gestione e impostazione del lavoro, il mio punto vendita in particolare era molto ben organizzato nello svolgimento dei compiti quotidiani.

like makeup? work somewhere else

This job feels like riding a seesaw. You experience a lot of ups and downs (usually downs) working here. The company tries to make it seem like they really care about their employees when they really don't. They shackle you down with "golden cuffs." The discount is decent, you get occasional free items called "gratis/training products" (which they are changing to giving less and less), and the hours are flexible... but some of the things you have to deal with working here just aren't worth it. Upper management is/can be very passive aggressive, petty, and pushy. Lower management/"CEL"/key holders tend to abuse the little power they do have when upper management isn't around and tend to take their frustrations out on Beauty Advisors... and the mini managers omg. BAs who have been with the company for a long time like to breathe over newer employees or constantly overstep boundaries acting like they are in a management or leadership positions. It just seems like the company as a whole is missing the mark on who they're hiring to work in their stores. People are constantly not pulling their weight, are straight up lazy, or just disappear for their entire shift... and management doesn't do a thing about it.There is A LOT of favoritism and pettiness that happens on and off the floor. Even in front of clients/customers.Hours and pay is also another negative thing about the company as a whole. You can be hired as a part time employee, work over 40 hours a week, and not receive any benefits. When you ask management, they'll respond with, "it's not about how many hours you -

fun part time job

i started during the holiday season so it was a bit stressful, but i really enjoyed the products and people i worked around! pay was average, we could take home three samples a shift so that was nice. coworkers definitely make or break the experience, i got along with all the girls and our manager genuinely cared about us. customers could be crazy sometimes when it came to more expensive products or sales, but overall a pretty solid gig.

Gratis and education

Coworkers and management are great. Loved that Sephora encouraged being ourselves. Education and gratis are my favorite things. I would definitely come back and work there.

Keep looking

If someone you worked closely with got covid they left it as optional to go get tested, they encouraged us to come in to work anyway. Management plays favorites! And they couldn't care less about work life balance. As a part time employee i have absolutely no certainty or predictability in my life. But i guess thats retail.Dont get me started on my position. Imagine heavy lifting and constantly getting hurt, and then being used to fill in wherever the store is lacking. Expect to be constantly tired and to get paid less than you deserve.If you want a promotion you have to be close with your store director and expect to travel to a new store.

Fun workplace but the burnout is real

A typical day at work consisted of multi-client assisting, color matching clients, helping ring clients up at the register and also making product recommendations. While it was fun in the beginning, the ever-changing schedules, severely cut hours, disorganized management and snooty clientele made the job very stressful. There was no raise offered after a year of working there, and it seems the only way to advance is to show interest in becoming part of the disorganized management. Working at Sephora taught me so much about sales, client relations and also about what I want in a job. This is a good place to start if you want an impressive resume and to get tons of gratis, but I don't believe it is sustainable working here for years.

Love the job

I worked at the fashion district Sephora as a temporary beauty advisor. The job was great and the people were really nice, I loved the management team; they were super nice. The only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that I was part-time doing 10 hours a day, granted I was happy for the extra hours and the extra money but it leaves little time for social life. I had high hopes for this job because I want a career in this field and my hopes were let down just a little.

Can be fun but fast paced

Really liked my coworkers but a few managers were a bit intimidating. Being a cashier there is this unspoken "lower tier". You don't get as much gratis or opportunities for training with brands and products. It often can get busy and other beauty advisors on "stage" are not always trained in how to work a register so you often have to stagergize with long lines. Very punctual with making sure everyone got their proper breaks which is a plus.

You get to work with great people that love their job, learn about new products, meet cool people that come to the store, management is great and they are understanding.

Easy job

Working at Sephora was easy after training. If you have a good sense of the product knowledge, you’ll be a great asset to the team. Sales are tracked everyday, but most importantly so are credit card apps. You have to reach a certain amount of apps or you can get in trouble. Customers are often rude, but that is just how retail is.

Inclusive company that cares about people

Sephora cares about its employees and promotes education at all levels. I learned a lot about people development and recruiting during my time as a manager. There is room to grow and plenty of opportunities for advancement. They also offer bonus opportunities for the entire team. One bonus is based on percentages over monthly sales goals. The other bonus is quarterly and based on customer service survey results. Overall it was a great place to work.

Fun workplace but hard to move up

For the most part it’s a fun place to work. I will say though that the company is more about the number than about the artistry. They set you up for success to move up but takes forever to actually advance. And asking for full time is like pulling teeth. Overall a nice place to work but not something that should be seen as a permanent place to stay.

Fun and friendly environment

We can feel like being part of something big. Got a chance to travel to many countries and management is really friendly in Sephora. But it's hard to get onboard. As they do not open a lot of positions.

Management cares

I loved working for Sephora. The management was on point making sure employees had what they needed always. The only down side to working there was that they forced overtime and didn't let you schedule any time off without using your PTO. They wouldn't excuse court appointments which are a mandatory thing. I never had any PTO because of this. For those reasons i left the company.

A corporation that is more concerned with making money than the well-being and happiness of it’s employees

Sephora as a company puts on a giant show for those on the outside looking in to appear as a “great place to work”. This is absolutely not the case. There is zero work life balance even though Sephora claims it as one of it’s “values”. Management and head office expects both part time and full time employees to dedicate all their time to the company and to drop everything to work for them. You are constantly given a hard time when you do try to request time off, and questioned if/when you call in sick for a shift. There is never enough people scheduled, so you are almost always doing the job of multiple employees and are overwhelmed on a regular basis. Instead of giving pay increases where they are certainly due, Sephora bribes employees with gratis (free product) and continues to underpay employees for the overwhelming amount of work they do. During situations like a pandemic, they continuously prove that making money is more important than the safety of their employees. There is zero support from management when short staffed and/or when clients verbally abuse employees. Management continuously picks favourites to give hours to, time off to, and gratis to on a regular basis. Policies never apply to all employees, management picks and chooses who the policies apply to instead of applying them to all employees as they should. Management conducts them selves in an incredibly unprofessional manor and regularly both entertain and partake in gossiping about other employees both on a work level and a personal level. If any type of “leave” is required, paperwork is never completely -

Great company sometimes repetitive work

Great company to work for with great perks and benefits (employee discount, free merchandise, health insurance, dental insurance, 401k, PTO/time off, etc.) there’s potential to move around in the company laterally or promotions. They handled the pandemic well with safety measures and a sense of job security for tenured employees. If business is slow, payroll hours are reduced like any other retail job. Compensation and salary could be adjusted according to work duties. Sometimes it feels like we’re being overworked for not enough compensation. Overall it’s a great company to work for to network and learn about customer service in a service first mindset.

Super expérience

J'ai eu plusieurs cdd, j'y suis restée à peu près 1an, j'ai adoré travailler la bas l'équipe est au top, ainsi que les responsables, cela reste de la vente il faut donc faire les objectifs journaliers on est pas mal "surveillé" à ce niveau la mais sans pression ou stress, cela reste professionnel et il y a un bel esprit d'équipe !

Training and education

Was a great company for many years, training and education at a high standard. Not a great company if you do not want a leadership path. Eventually you will become stagnant. Leadership that are fair and hardworking are often mistreated while managers who barely do enough to get by stay in positions and are allowed to grow.

Worked there for over a decade

I worked there for almost 13 years and loved it, I think about my time there all the time and do miss it. Education is a huge focus, I learned more working at this job than I did in cosmetology school. They give you gratis (free products) which is a huge perk. PTo is accumulated, it was easy to take 4 day weekends sometimes when requesting it. Really fun and rewarding place to work. If you work really hard, you can go places in this company. I started out as a seasonal and worked my way up to management. If you are patient and a team player, respectful and follow their values, it is a great place to work
