PURPOSE OF THE JOB
In the role of Import & Export Sea Internship, you will gain experience for handling transportation services, as a customer care and point of contact for our business customers. This includes operational as well as quality aspects of the service provided to our customers. You report to the Business Development Manager and are in contact with our customers, suppliers and worldwide colleagues.

KEY ACTIVITIES
The intern will support the activities of Freight Forwarding team, and in particular he/she have the chance to be trained on the following activities:

Operations:

  • Customer booking activities: booking and follow-up of external carriers and transportation services.
  • Optimize the order and load consolidation.
  • Invoice and documentation control.
  • Monitoring of on time deliveries and cost efficiency, while interfacing with suppliers to ensure the smooth execution of processes.
  • Sending daily pre-alert to update customers on the status of the shipment progress.
  • Monitoring booking performance: customer answer lead-time, customer attitude, etc.

Reporting:

  • Managing root causes and corrective actions with structured tools (action plan) in order to solve them definitively, keeping all actors committed.
  • Participate in meeting with Corporate.

PROFILE – COMPETENCE
For this role, we are looking for a candidate with strong analytical skills and good interpersonal skills.

He/she is a flexible and accurate quick problem-solver with a strong hands-on mentality, able to work in teams.

  • Interest and knowledge on transportation, warehousing and supply chain management.
  • Ability to operate collaboratively on cross-functional, multi-cultural teams.
  • Positive thinker and with a change agent mentality.
  • Commercial and analytical mindset.
  • Proven ability to meet deadline in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Good MS Office skills.
  • Fluent level of English and Italian (almost C1).

Benefits
Contract: 6 month Internship – renewable.

Place: Our headquarter in Milan.

Compensation: A monthly reimbursement of € 900.00 gross + restaurant ticket of € 12.00 + Wellness program.
