Transport Planning Specialist
Fulltime | Milan

In the role of Transport Planning Specialist, You will be responsible for handling and scheduling transportation services. This includes operational as well as quality aspects of the service provided to our customers. You report to the Control Tower Manager and are in contact with our customers, partners, as well as other departments within our company.

Purpose of the job
Operations:

• Inbound and Outbound orders planning
• Orders optimization and loadings consolidation
• Customer booking activities: booking and follow-up of external carriers and transportation services
• Monitoring of on-time deliveries and cost efficiency
• Finding solutions to satisfy customers transportation needs, dealing with capacity issues, managing uncertainty and changes in planned volumes
• Support colleagues/other departments for new operations and/or implementation of new product/services

Process Improvement:

• Analyze current operations and customer attitude in order to determine improvement possibilities.
• Increase order consolidation and truck optimization
• Defining, test and execute development and implementation of new systems and processes.

Reporting:

• Monitoring KPI: on time delivery, lead time, shipment consolidation, etc.
• Monitoring transportation processes: respect of loading date and time, planned delivery date.
• Monitoring booking performance: customer answer lead-time, customer attitude, etc.
• Managing root causes and corrective actions with structured tools (action plan) in order to solve them definitively, keeping all actors committed.

Profile
For this role, we are looking for an ambitious candidate with strong analytical skills.

He/she is a flexible and accurate quick problem-solver with a strong hands-on mentality, able to work in teams.

We are looking for an employee with:

• A Bachelor degree in Engineering/Logistic or equivalent work experience of minimum 3 years in transport planning, forwarding or expedition
• Proven knowledge on transportation, warehousing and supply chain management
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional, multi-cultural teams
• Positive thinker with a “can do, will do” spirit and a change agent mentality
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, share problems and advices
• Proven ability to meet deadline in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Excellent MS Office skills
• A proficient level of English (at least B2) and Italian (at least C1)
