Lab Analyst Intern – Quality Control

Roles & Objectives


As an Intern you will be part of our Quality Control Department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A./Philip Morris Italia and will be reporting to Team Leader Quality Control. The position will be based in Bologna.

In your role, you will join the Incoming Material Inspection team supporting the team in the analysis and controls of product and process quality: plan and perform tests and analysis (physical/chemical) on the quality of raw materials, tobacco, semi-finished and finished products according to applicable procedures and analytical methods. You will investigate and resolve deviations and contribute to defining when appropriate corrective actions leveraging on problem solving tools.

You will participate in projects with influence on product quality.

You will ensure the identification and the properly storage of the retention samples in complete respect of PMI Standards if available and the properly use of all recording systems ensuring that they are adequately completed, and the data recorded can be used at any time for traceability.

You will propose cost efficiency related initiatives.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis and documental check on raw materials

  • Execute sample reference preparation and waste management

  • Propose and lead initiatives to improve existing flow


Who we’re looking for


  • Technical school (laboratory) or Master Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent discipline) or relevant skills.

  • Fluent in English and in Italian

  • Ability to work in team and to engage with multi-functional stakeholders
