Silk is a popular pan-Asian restaurant present in 5 locations across Croatia. To complete our teams for the 2025 season, we are looking for restaurant managers who shall help take the brand to it next level. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a restaurant, ensuring that everything runs smoothly while maintaining a high standard of service.

Below is a detailed description of the position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all aspects function smoothly.
  • Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure that customer satisfaction is always met.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards, including local regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Manage restaurant inventory and ordering processes to maintain adequate stock levels without over-ordering.

2. Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage restaurant staff, including chefs, waiters, bartenders, and support staff.
  • Schedule and manage shifts, ensuring appropriate staff coverage during peak hours and events.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and motivate staff to deliver exceptional service.
  • Handle staff-related issues, including disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.

3. Customer Service:

  • Ensure that all customers have a positive dining experience, addressing any complaints or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Manage guest relations and build rapport with regular customers.
  • Monitor customer feedback and take necessary actions to improve service levels.

4. Financial Management:

  • Help develop and manage the restaurant's budget, ensuring profitability.
  • Track sales, costs, and expenses, and analyze financial data to optimize profitability.
  • Work with the marketing team to implement promotions and events that drive revenue.

5. Marketing & Promotions:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute events, promotions, and seasonal offers.
  • Leverage social media and customer review platforms to enhance the restaurant’s brand and reputation.

6. Supplier and Vendor Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with food and beverage suppliers, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of supplies.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.

7. Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records, including sales, expenses, work schedule and payroll, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements such as licensing, health and safety standards, and employment laws.
  • Report to the F&B Director and or restaurant owner regarding operational performance and financials.

8. Innovation & Improvement:

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new ideas to enhance the restaurant’s offerings.
  • Innovate menu items and service models to meet changing customer demands.
  • Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining or improving quality.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire a team to provide excellent service and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve issues that arise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, financial forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail in all aspects of service, from food quality to customer satisfaction.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar field is required. Experience in high-end or specialized restaurants (e.g., pan-Asian, fine dining) is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, as these are peak times for restaurant activity.
  • The role is fast-paced and may involve long hours on your feet.
  • May need to step in and assist in various capacities, such as serving, if the restaurant is short-staffed.
  • Salary comensurate with experience.
