As a Hydrogen Technology R&D Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in our daily commitment to decarbonization projects for Snam at national and international level. You’ll be part of our Decarbonitation Department, specifically in Decarbonitation Technology Solution Unit.

• ️ Growing Sector: the energy industry is constantly evolving, and you’ll have the chance to be at the forefront of these industry dynamics.

Your main tasks:

• Manage internal and external research project in collaboration with Italian and international universities and research centers that are part of Snam Decarbonization Research Center dealing with technology for H2, sector coupling and Energy Storage
• Generate and extract value from existing and new research projects in line with Snam strategy. For example, support identification of business models, IP strategy etc.
• Support technical due diligence and potential strategic collaboration with innovative start-ups
• Apply for national and international research project funding selecting the most suitable partner for consortia formation.
• Manage a brilliant and dedicated team.

What you need to join our team

• A degree in Engineering, Physics, STEM, with a focus on energy or environmental topics.
• Excellent analytical skills;
• A keen interest in investigating the evolution of the energy sector, particularly in technological aspects and environmental and energy policy frameworks.
• Proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Fluent English required
• Master degree or PhD in Chemical, Energy, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in similar roles
• Deep knowledge and understanding of decarbonization technologies such as, for example: Low carbon H2 production technologies (electrochemical, catalytic, thermal etc), Fuel cells, CO2 valorization, CO2 capture, Long Duration Energy Storage
• Proven track-record of successfully manage R&D projects
