MISSION

As Senior Accountant and Controlling Specialist, you will play a central role in supporting the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of EMS Italy. Reporting directly to the General Manager Italy, you will be responsible for managing accurate financial reporting, developing and monitoring budgets, maintaining robust internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights to support informed business decisions.

This key position combines technical accounting and controlling expertise with a proactive, business-oriented mindset to safeguard and enhance the financial health of EMS Italy within the wider EMS Group.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Prepare the day-to-day accounting transactions (bank, invoices, payments, cash collection, etc.).
  • Maintain and control the general ledger, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Italian GAAP and/or Group policy.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and support tax filings with advisors.
  • Coordinate annual audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

Controlling & Analysis

  • Support financial planning cycles including budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis and business performance reviews to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to product and cost accounting, ensuring accurate margin analysis and reporting.
  • Provide financial modeling and decision-making support to local leadership.
  • Track, analyze, and report KPIs and financial metrics aligned with EMS objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with business stakeholders to provide financial guidance and decision support.
  • Contribute to ERP upgrades or implementations and data structure improvements.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to of junior finance team members to support their development.

EDUCATION & PERSONAL SKILLS

· Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting and controlling roles, ideally in a multinational or manufacturing environment.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).

· CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification is a plus.

· Strong knowledge of Italian GAAP and tax regulations.

· Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel.

· Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a strong asset.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.

· Fluent in English and Italian (mandatory).
