Villa Lario is a 20 suites exclusive property on the shore of iconic Lake Como. Nestled on 2 acres of historical garden, between lake and cliffs, Villa Lario allies modernity and heritage. After its last renovation in 2020, the property offer experience and services of international standards. With a philosophy of "home away from home", we offer to our clients a relax yet luxurious atmosphere in the off the beaten tracks location. In addition to the hospitality, we offer 1 restaurant and 1 lounge bar open to outside guests. To complete these services, the property has an infinity pool, a peer on the lake, fitness room, all reserved for our guests.

The candidate will join the F&B Team which is operational on the entire property, from the restaurant to the pool, the large gardens, the lounge bar area and front lake. The Team is also active on the many events which are taking place on site during the whole season offering a large scope of experience on Food& Beverage.

Villa Làrio is looking for a Chef de Rang to join our F&B Department. We are looking for a passionate candidate who has good interpersonal and organizational skills and believes to have the propensity for relationships with customers.

What will you be doing?

  • Detailed knowledge of the menu and being able to articulate enthusiastically.
  • Know the steps of service as outlined in the service manual.
  • Make guests feel comfortable and enhance the guest experience.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed their expectations
  • Supervise the clearing of tables and mise-en-place necessary for the next course.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day. Inspect the cleanliness and presentation all china, glass, and silver prior to use.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned tables including ensuring courses are cleared and tables are properly crumbed.
  • Communicate with guests and other employees and ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service.
  • Delegate work to demi/commis during service
  • Be able to take on Head Waiter duties in his/her absence, including the traning of Commis De Rangs & trainees
  • To liaise with the Commis/ Demi to ensure that the preparations and mise en place are correct and to the standard.
  • Monitor and observe guests' dining experience.
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.

What are we looking for?

  • Fluent in Italian and good knowledge of English.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and positive.
  • Enjoy being part of a team.
  • Previous experience in the same position in hotels of similar category.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to find solutions.
  • A genuine passion for customer service and a sparkling personality.
  • Great communication skills, desire to develop and progress in your role.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm are key for this position.

PLACE OF WORK – PERIOD OF OFFER

Villa Lario is located at Pognana Lario on the East bank of lake Como in Lombardia, Italy, 20 minutes from the City of Como.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From €1,800.00 per month
