Tenuta Golo is a boutique, family-owned wine estate producing premium Vino Nobile di Montepulciano while welcoming guests from around the world to our luxury vineyard retreat.
As our business enters an exciting new phase of growth, we are looking for an exceptional Winery Manager to become one of the operational backbones of the estate.
We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on responsibility, and wants to play a central role in a premium winery where every day is different. The successful candidate will oversee vineyard and winery operations while also helping to deliver outstanding wine hospitality experiences for our international guests.

The Role
You will work closely with the owners and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the estate across four key areas.
Vineyard
- Oversee the day-to-day management of approximately six hectares of vineyards.
- Plan and coordinate vineyard activities throughout the year.
- Supervise contractors and seasonal workers.
- Monitor vine health and vineyard maintenance.
- Operate tractors and agricultural machinery where required.
Winery
- Manage cellar operations throughout the year.
- Lead harvest and winemaking activities.
- Maintain the winery to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Oversee bottling, inventory and stock management.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
Wine Hospitality
- Welcome guests from around the world.
- Lead winery tours and wine tastings.
- Help deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Support luxury hospitality operations during busy periods.
Wine Estate Operations
- Coordinate suppliers and deliveries.
- Assist with direct wine sales and shipping.
- Monitor stock and general estate supplies.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standards.
- Work closely with the owners while confidently taking responsibility for day-to-day decisions.
About You
You are someone who enjoys taking ownership and making things happen.
You have:
- Significant previous experience working in a winery and vineyard.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved wherever needed.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A positive, proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
- The confidence to work independently while collaborating closely with the owners.
- A genuine passion for wine, agriculture and hospitality.
Essential Requirements
- Previous winery and vineyard experience.
- Fluent Italian.
- Good conversational English (additional languages are an advantage).
- Valid driving licence.
- Tractor licence and experience.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Availability to work Saturdays and occasional Sundays during the tourism season is essential.
Desirable Skills
- Wine tasting presentation experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Experience using winery management or inventory systems and online platforms.
- Hospitality or tourism experience.
- Wine qualifications (advantageous but not essential).
