The Digital Technology (DT) team of Aero Alliance (a joint venture between GE Gas Power & Baker Hughes), is looking for a AWS Applications Technical Lead. The position will be reporting to our Avenza location or Florence location (with an as needed commute to Avenza). The incumbent will be responsible for supporting existing AWS based software solutions, improving/enhancing them and implementing new solutions using AWS programming technologies at Aero Alliance’s global locations. The initial focus will be the Avenza implementations, but the position requires to support/improve global solutions. The Incumbent will support our very engaged Users, who will expect Incumbent to grow knowledgeable and become an expert on our Applications functionally.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Analyze issues reported by users and provide solutions for them in a timely manner
• Fix bugs, correct data issues/code issues as needed and provide application support.
• Analyze requirements for new features, develop design documents, implement/test/migrate features/enhancements in a timely manner
• Collaborate with global and local DT and non DT team members in providing bug fixes, enhancements and new solutions
• Follow the coding standards, IT controls, compliance procedures and company policies in conducting all tasks
• Manage the local back log queue of features, communicate status and schedules for all user stories/issues/bugs with the requestors in a timely manner based on their criticality
• Provide support for the applications after hours as needed. This will mostly be during new releases and major solution deliveries, but can occur at other times in frequently as well.
• Understand the functional aspects of the applications, the business processes they support and be able to train new users on the features of the applications.
• Learn the business processes that our Aero Alliance DT Solutions support – our Shop Floor and other business processes will rely and work collaboratively with DT Leads
• Learn our solutions well enough to provide some occasional training to Users
• Work on other DT related tasks as needed.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree with advanced experience.

Desired Characteristics

• Strong experience in software development and support experience using AWS development stack including Postgres, SpringBoot and Angular, or similar technologies .
• Knowledge of integration services such as Boomi, Mulesoft or other required.
• Experience in business requirements gathering, documentation and user experience design required
• Experience in development of test cases, technical design document required.
• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking/analysis skills and best practices.
• Experience in working with global teams (functional and technical) a plus
• Excellent Communication skills in Italian and English required.
